10 on Tuesday- Weekend Events

1. On Friday Levi and I went shopping for a Baby shower I am going to this next weekend, and another one I am just sending a gift. I can only handle 1.. What was fun is 1 is for a boy and the other is a girl. I have never shopped for a boy baby before.  My sister had 3 girls, and all of my friends have failed to pop out a boy….Its nice to travel on the other side of the store… We went with a sports theme. Levi’s choice of course.

 2. Friday night Lights.. AKA Softball. I finally broke my no-hitting streak. It felt good…and just in time for the tournament…

 3. On Friday we had to stay up really late because of the tournament the next day. So we headed to my Friends Amber house and had some good laughs. Its fun when you have known a friend since you were a child so much so that a simple hello is super funny…

4. Roxie got to join us. She was afraid of the stairs.

 5. Saturday SLEEP…. ALL. DAY. LONG.

 6. The reason Levi and I had to stay up all night and sleep all day Saturday is because we had an overnight softball tournament on Saturday night. Meaning the games started @ 9. We did a fun team BBQ at the park prior to our first game. Our game times were 9p.m., 12a.m., 2a.m. and 6a.m. We won the tournament…!!! It was so much fun. I am still recovering, and in need of a body cast.

 7. My mom and Dad came to 2 of the games it was nice, they seem to like being cheerleaders, and I like them there.

 8. I got hit with a ball in my shin while I was running, let just say its ugly and it’s painful.

 9. What’s worse is that when we were done at 7 a.m., we got a 5 hour brake and then back to the field for our regular scheduled season games…let’s just say that was the hardest part.

 10. So weekend recap: Shopping, Softball, Friends, Softball, No Sleep, Softball, Body cast, Softball…It was a fun weekend…Now to summer being over and school beginning…

XOXO

3rd Wednesday

Happy 3rd Wednesday!!!! Did you know today is the 3rd Wednesday of August….This will be important later …so remember.

My Wednesday was a bit wacky, well more my morning was at least. I woke up at 7:20. It was so weird!! I was awake, so awake I jumped out of bed got dressed and headed to work ½ an hour early I decided to stop by and get some coffee and Arco. It was French vanilla…and it was soooooo good.  I arrived at work 15 minutes early…I was a crazy person I tell you. I enjoyed my morning coffee and surf. Then to work I went. My whole day was full of zero work. More phone call which I like to do.  So I had a pretty weird morning. I even left work on time..Which RARLY happens.

So are you curious about the 3rd Wednesday, and why it is so important. Well for the first time today I agree with something the State of California is doing. Its smart, well planned and it should be slightly effective enough to make a difference.  For every 3rd Wednesday in each month all the state courts shut down. There is no phone to be answered, no cases to be heard, no documents to be filed, and no tickets to be paid.  Everyone gets a day off. This is good for a couple of reasons. First, it saves the state on day of payroll which should give somewhat of a breather to our horrendous budget crisis.  Second, it shows that the state actually understands that cutting back is a good thing. They go off footing these big bills that they can afford while its residence are going to work one less day, driving less, eating in, and living way below their means to make sure they get by.   And finally, for one day all the cranky clerks get to stay at home and come back Thursday relaxed and hopefully in a better mood. Seriously they lack sleep.

Hope you all had a wonderful 3rd wacky Wednesday!

10 in Tuesday- I’m BACK…!

I am sorry I have been away so long, but I did not abandon you and I will catch you up on all my summer happenings…

1. My sister came out for the Month of June…!! We had so much fun with her. The time here felt so short, but time does fly by when you’re having fun… The girls stayed in my room and it became Ft. Sincock, or Hotel Sincock if you prefer. I am sad they are gone, but April 2010 they will rejoin us again and this time it’s for good..!!!

2. Ty Graduated. If that doesn’t make me feel old enough he got his licenses and a car…He is so stoked about his fire Tech program, and to starts school in a week @ Mt. Sac. I only hope that I have guided him enough that we will fly on his own…this will be the first school that is different from where I went, so my big sister wings flew away. I only hope he will do great things on his own…

3. Disneyland 3fer..! I don’t think I can thank my mom enough for this fun thing. When my sister was down this summer they wanted to take the girls to Disneyland, but the original plan had me watching  Lo-Lo while they go. At the last minute they decided to take her and my mom bough Ty and I 3fer passes, and Levi and I bought him one..! We not only had fun time with the girls, but then again by ourselves, and then with my aunt, dad and mom…It was a great summer gift, and I think we will do it again next summer.

4. Summer School. Lame, Boring, took a good part of my summer away. But I got a 90/100 on my final and an A- in Math which is all I cared about..!! (and secretly the math grew on me..)

5. Talking about school I changed my major and my life career…I am not a Liberal Arts Major, which means I want to be a K-8 teacher, instead of a history teacher. Although my passion is history, I think my creativity and youthfulness triumphed it…We will see where this takes me and I want to thank my family for there support in my decision.

6. What is fun about this change is I get to take some pretty cool classes this Fall…I am going to be student teaching, and another one is a child observatory class.. This should be way fun, and I am super excited to take this Fall on…!!

7. On other news I am looking for a job, hopefully one in the schools. I am so done with working for the devil, and I want to be somewhere where I can be in love all day…I have always wanted to work in schools and I pray I get this opportunity to..!!!

8. O Sports…So this past winter I was asked to Fill-in for a softball league and they ended up picking me up for there summer team for good…! I love it and it’s great that I have something to do to keep me on my toes..! But then Levi and I joined a team together on Sunday afternoon…On top of his softball on Sunday nights…and I forgot to mention Levi was coaching 3 basketball teams this summer…WE ARE CRAZY, right? This summer I was asked more then a handful of times-”which kid is yours?” and told “you guys are busy parents…” It’s all in fun and kept our summer moving right along…I would like to start coaching Girls softball, but I am not sure how to get into it and I know winter ball is right around the corner….So I will wait it out and see what happeneds…

9.Netflix has been my bf this summer…I got to follow a new tv show and watch many fun movies…It was a good things to sign up for, and I am glad we utilized it and saved money on Theater Tickets.

10. Summer is just about over, and it was full of fun, family, and friends…Its just about time to hang up the party hats and break out the books…Its good to be back…!! I hope you all agree…

R.I.P. Rich Bohannan

Rich Bohannan- There is nothing about this man I will forget. I meet him around the age of 13 or 14. He was always standing in the rink with a group of dads. He was always first to stand up and take charge of the “hockey mom” responsibilities. He would keep track of the team and he did a very good job. Always keeping the parent drama low and the head coach happy- which is a hard thing to do when you have a team of little boys playing hockey.

My dad and I quickly came to know Michelle and Rich Bohannan, and the loving family they had. My brother was never the best of friends with they’re son, Cody, but they got along well. I always was involved to taking care of the little kids on the team and Michelle had another little boy Kyle whom I immediately grew fond of.  He was a ball of fire- always busy, always had something to do, and something to say. He was full of energy and life..! While I loved hanging out with Kyle you could tell that it was a break for the Bohannan’s who ran a very busy life.

 n1420272562_11864_91221

We took many trips and spent much time with the Bohannan’s within the 3 season there son and my brother were on the same team. The Bohannan’s were an extraordinary family. And Rich and Michelle had a blast with the hockey family that they created. I have to say there was never a dull moment when Rich was there and there were many memories made. Rich was just that guy that was Superdad and social queen behind the scenes.

Through the years the boys growing older and we all took our separate ways to different teams and different hockey families. The Bohannan’s never forgot about the family they built with us and we would always heard from them at least once a year with there family Christmas card assuring us they were doing well with there new life ventures.

I take for granted the people I have meet in life thinking hearing from the once in a while finding out they were doing just fine, and were okay was sufficient enough. The people who I have many fond memories with and so many stories to tell, people who made a great impact on my life and when I drive near there house and I think “O I should drop by when I have time” (Time and time again), people who popped up in a conversation just because they are always in the back of your mind.

On Wednesday April 14, 2009 at 8:45 Rich was killed by a hit-and-run driver in front of his house while walking to the mail with Kyle. There is nothing more devastating then getting that phone call from an old hockey friend informing our family of the incident that happened just mere hours ago. The news that was shared to me by my dad made me instantly tear up and want to hold my own family very close.

This incident is so shocking and for the past week I found myself trying to figure out why Rich, and how something like this could happen to such a fantastic guy. I drove by his house maybe a handful of times this past week just thinking it was a lie and that he is sitting at home with his family…Then I turn on the news to find out what new discoveries were coming up and seeing how all were remembering him for the amazing father, husband, and friend that he was.

 n1420272562_11848_9474

Today at 1 I will be attending his funeral with my old hockey friends. And as I sit here writing this tears are already flowing. I hurt for his wife, and kids, and all the hockey families like mine who are dealing with this loss. Rich was a great man and today we are going to going to cry, we are going to be emotional but most of all we are going to support one another through this great loss by celebrating the wonderful life he had and have his memory will live in all of us forever.

How was Vegas you ask..?

Answer: AMAZING!

2873_1155628970936_1234068239_30429474_7734009_n

Levi and I really enjoyed our time in Vegas. Even though everything didn’t go to plan and we had to skip out on somethings we really wanted to do we really really had a lot of fun. Lets see here is 20 things to share about Vegas

1. Where ever you stay always get a big bathroom it makes getting ready super fun and its almost easier..!

2. Know you might lose a cat life on the NYNY Roller Coaster.

3.NYNY is the best hotel & casino on the strip.

4. There is not enough time in 5 days and 4 nights to do everything important in Vegas…There is just to much stuff.

5. Always be paired up with someone who has been to vegas a couple times like your parents…sadly they know where the real party is at…Thanks Mom& Dad!!!

6.Always wear your walking shoes. That doesn’t exclude heels, but you have to wear your really comfy ones.

7. Food is super expensive in Vegas.

8. When you want to gamble and don’t know what your game is going to join someone that knows a variety of games and follow them to see what looks interesting..They will lead you to video poker where you shall fall in love…

9. Always gamble where your player card can be used…and where there is designated No smoking areas…

10. Always keep you eyes peeled you will surprised how many hidden things Vegas has…

11. Never forget your sunglasses at home.

12. Always laugh at weird people on the strip…because you can

13. The mile mall in Vegas is like the mall here. There is no need to walk in it..you can do that at home.

14. If going to vegas you must see the blue man group they are the funniest people alive..!!!

15. Walk your own hotel and casino because you might be missing out on things you can do like the lion exhibit..If it weren’t for my parents I would have never known what was actually so cool about the MGM…

16. Walk instead of taking a taxi. I know this can only go so far but I loved walking up and down the strip.

17. Note to self: Never take a taxi in Vegas you might not come out alive.

18. Take pictures galore Vegas/The Strip is really a beautiful place

19. Don’t order a pina colada at The Harley Davidson Cafe for lunch. They are to strong and wont allow you to enjoy your walk down the strip the res of the day.

20. Always have fun..! There is not enough time to spare to have a dull moment in Vegas..!!!

My 21st Birthday was amazing..! I really enjoyed it and although I wish it didn’t fly by so fast I am glad all the planning was worth it..Now to the drawing bored for Thank you cards: the creativity that always puts an end to the event..!!!!

HY 5 4 Google.!

So my sisterdid a fun blog bout your last 5 google searches…The rules share your last 5 good searched (maybe explain why)..SO here is goes..

1. ASU Tempe, AZ – I checked on this one because I was doing a fb “Cities i would like to live in” thingy and Levi want to do his masters there so chances are home might be there for a while…

2.How to tell your friend your not going to her wedding- A family friend happened to pass away and his funeral is on the same day as my friends wedding.. Needless to say I made a decision but didnt know how to tell her nicely or in the correct way.

3. Rich Bohannan- I have looked him up everyday for the past almost week. I keep thinking its a lie, but the information is prove he is off to a better place. Home called for him. RIP

4. Fun things to do outside when its hot- yesterday Levi and I played catch we had a lot of fun doing it (until i put a nice little dent in his car), but he doesnt want to run through the sprinklers (he is so not a kid) and we dont have the pool up yet.

5. Fun place to go in the united states- Levi and I went to las vegas 2weeks, ago and we are going to Arizonia in July and Maybe Mexico/cabo in October. Next year we are thinking maybe Flordia… so I wanted to see what everyone else thought

Wackey Wednesday…April Fools..!

1. To day has been a very weird day so I have decided to a 10 on Tuesday format blog, but I am achieving any number my thoughts run out on.

2. My sister has not blogged since last 10 on Tuesday and that makes for some very boring blog reading…maybe if I blog she will to…

3.There is 7 days left until my 21st Birthday…I am so on a super count down….There are 3 days left until Levis…Hey 7 & 3 are my moms favorite numbers…we must be her favorite people of the day.

4. Talking about favorite people I will tell you who is not my favorite. That would be my little brother Tyler. Who thought it would be uber funny to prank his sister by saying he got his girl prego. Lets just say he was not so happy when I let him have it on how not funny that actually was.

5. Talking about My mom, as most of you know my dad is bowling in Nationals next week in Vegas and well I have been trouting his butt to the bowling alley every other day because he is a bad sports player and doesn’t like practicing…If there is one thing I learned from him is there is no crying over practice if you really want to play..So I have been a rough coach daughter…Tough love…well my mom joined us on Monday night after work. The Women who took 4th in Nationals o 12 years ago fell right on her butt the first bowl back. Not only did we laugh it off we had a really fun time…I can say this is one time my mom was not a fun sucker…

6. Vegas anyone? We leave the 9th which is 8 days away..!!!! Which means i have most of my outfits all planned, most plans are scedualed, and we are stoked to go!!!!

7. Before we leave I have many midterms to get through. One that will give me the ultimatum of dropping it and talking it agin next semester or not So its hard to be fully happy when I am working my butt off until we leave…That’s life

8. On more exciting School news I am in a program at school because of my lack of trying to complete classes and well because I did so well on my contract I was in a published academic Journal and I am suppose to be getting interviewed by a publisher this week…Its a little joy right now.

9. So I got a chip in my window from a rock that flew out of a truck. I was so devastated I knew my dad would be mad…so how do you tell dad bad news….. You say it with people around in a public place and fast…So outside of the bowling ally where he couldn’t reach me and a “DadChipWindowTruckRock.” worked really well…:)

10. My niece Ashleigh’s birthday is coming up and well…my mom came up with a great group gift and enlisted my help. I just got to say it my favorite gift given so far…

11.My mom has decided to walk in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer at the end of this summer. I am so proud of her and I just know she will have so much fun doing it…she needs to raid $1800.00 and she is determined to do it she only needs 144 people to donate $12.50. If you are interested here is her link I encourage you to donate its for a wonderful cause. http://info.avonfoundation.org/site/TR/Walk2009/LosAngeles?px=4639469&pg=personal&fr_id=1830

12.My boss is not here today, so its as good as a day off. Although this morning it was one problem after the other…

13. I have been sad that I have been giving my myspace less attentions its just so boring compared to Fb…

14. For a girl that doesn’t like scary movies I am very addicted t the Hannibal movies right now. My favorite is the silence of the lambs..

15.I got my hair trimmed yesterday because I never like my bangs for the first week but i made a second appointment on Saturday for my eyebrow wax so they will be nice and clean right before we leave. Who would have thought I would ever be so girly…

16. I need to get an oil change but I hate going because they guys always think i am a stupid pretty girl who doesn’t know what they are talking about and cant see them stare.

17.I cut my right hand again on the cheese grater. I know I am a danger to myself…

18. Levi and I have been invited to go on a 5 cruise in October to mexico..Idk I have never been on a cruise it sounds like fun, but we will see…It might be overextending the trips in one year.

19. I think this is the end of the road for all my wacky thoughts. Have a good April Fools day and if you see my brother. KILL HIM.. Or hide him so I won’t.

:D

Play Date

Just because I am mother of a puppy and not a child does not mean I cannot schedule play dates…In fact my puppy loved her play date….Jackson is Levi’s Moms Min Pin. He is about the same size as Roxie he is a bit taller, and defiantly more adventurous. He walked in out house smelled the girls pee on the front room carpet and immediately marked his space. SO typical of all men, RIGHT? At first Roxie was like dude who are you to sniff my butt, but after a few minuets they we chasing each other everywhere.

Jackson seriously traveled the whole house to find out what trouble he could get in. To bad our house is doggie trouble proof…Gracie was not too fond of another rat in the house so she just stayed under the table and watched the little ones play…

Roxie was one happy daughter….
